5 Good Exercises For Muffin Top: PRO Tips

They are affectionately referred to as “love handles.” Or perhaps you like to refer to it as your muffin top. It is challenging to remove belly fat that hangs off the sides of the torso.

According to celebrity trainer Kira Stokes, you need to cross-train your core just like you cross-train the rest of your body. Exercises that focus on your oblique muscles will specifically target this area among all other exercises for thinning your waist.

A good rule to remember is that your obliques are worked by any movement that requires reaching to the side.

The entire middle part will be more efficiently sculpted and slimmed if you include exercises that also target your upper and lower abs. Stokes informs us that “your core functions as one integrated system.”

Another rule is to work out consistently and diet the right way. If you don’t have a proper eating plan, fighting muffin tops will be hard to achieve. Consume your local foods and make sure they are in the right proportion.

Below are the five exercises I want you to try in the comfort of wherever you are. I selected these exercises because of how easily they can be executed with minimal equipment.

Side Plank

With your right foot a little in ahead of your left, begin on your right elbow. Maintain a firm core throughout. Crunch your left elbow into your right knee as you pull it in toward your chest. Bring it back to the side plank posture after that.

Do this exercise regularly to transform your body and improve your physical health.

At first, this exercise will tire you, but you will quickly get the necessary fitness condition.

To do burpees correctly, stand with your feet at shoulder-width apart. Bend your knees into a squat position and place your hand on the floor while you extend your legs to the far end to be in a high plank position.

Bring your legs back to the original position at once and lift off your hands from the floor to explosively rise into a hop. Keep your hands up while you jump.

Russian Twist

Get a medicine ball, weight plate or a dumbbell and sit on the ground and raise the feet slightly above the ground. Hold the load straight in front of you and keep the spine rigid. The torso is supposed to be around 45 degrees from the ground. Twist the torso in an explosive manner as much as you can to the left and then to the right.

Knee Bends

Lie flat on the ground, abs pulled in tight to your spine, back flat on the floor. Lift legs off the floor and into a tabletop position. Squeeze the ball between legs, engaging the inner thigh muscles and lower abs the entire time. Drop your knees over to the right—slowly—keeping abs pulled in tight and lower back flat. Exhale and pull to center, then inhale as you drop them down the other way.

“You want to keep them tucked in, knees aligned over your hips,” says Stokes. You’ll also get an awesome lower back stretch. Holding the ball tight will ensure you keep your legs together throughout the movement.

Dumbbell Side Bends

The lateral bend of the torso – also called the dumbbell side bend – allows you to work the obliques in depth.

1 accessory is required: a dumbbell. It’s up to you to choose its weight.

If you are a beginner, take it easy and bet on a 1kg or 1.5kg dumbbell.

How many reps and sets are enough?

Beginners can start with at least three sets of ten-to-failure reps of each exercise. If your body demands more, shock it with extra sets and reps.
